Bud Taft was born January 15, 1847.  He was fourteen years old in this story.  He was one of the fearsome foursome.

Holly Taft was born August 14, 1849.  He was twelve years old in the story.  He was one of the fearsome foursome.

Thomas “Tad” Lincoln is one of President Abraham Lincoln’s sons.  He was born April 4, 1853.  He was eight years old in the story. He was one of the “fearsome foursome” which included himself, William Lincoln, Holly Taft, and Bud Taft.  They were called that because they were together almost all the time.  They were a brave group of boys who were up for almost any challenge.

William Lincoln is Tad’s older brother and a son of President Abraham Lincoln.  William enjoyed to read.  He especially enjoyed reading the daily news briefings that his father received about the Civil War.  William was born December 21, 1850.  He was ten years old in the story.  He was one of the fearsome foursome.
